Whenever there is conflict between people and if it is caused by a third person we brand him in derogatory term as Narada , but not many of us really aware regarding this great sage and also reason behind his act .
This small write up is my attempt to dispel the wrong notion about this great sage and put him back to the high pedestal among us for which he rightly deserves .
"Keep your army as well as the weaponry always in readiness...Be kind to your servants in order to win their hearts...Always be prompt in paying the wages of the soldiers and servants. Never spend more than what you earn. Build lakes and canals and provide the farmers with all facilities."
The above words seem like the advice of a modern political pundit to a senior administrator of a state. who is it that gave the above counsel? it is non other then this great sage Narada muni ! Narada is also said to have orated the maxims of the Narada smurthi (100 BC – 400 CE), which has been called the "juridical text par excellence" and represents the only Dharamshastra text which deals solely with juridical matters and ignoring those of righteous conduct and penance .In fact Karnataka sangita pitamaha, The great purandara dasa is said to be the incarnation of the sage narada. Even In the Mahabharata Narada plays a critical role in many instances - his knowledge is used in critical situations to arrive at right conclusions. For example, it is Narada who requests the pandava brothers to create a rule for sharing their Wife Drupathi , so that they do not end up fighting for her company.
Narada (Sanskrit: नारद, nārada means Naara = Wisdom + Da = Giver .The Mahabharata explains Narada's qualifications and experience in vivid detail - He was conversant with the Vedas and the Upanishads and was acquainted with history and Puranas. He had thorough knowledge of the six Angas - Pronunciation, grammar, prosody, explanation of basic terms, description of religious rites and astronomy.,…list is end less . Then why he is misunderstood ? what is the real reason behind his To understand Narada, one has to understand the quarrels that he ignites.
Quarrel follows after he compares and contrasts one thing with another which is measurable ! which is in realm of material world what we call as maya or unreal .. He tells one merchant that the other merchant is richer and is more admired than him. He tells one dancer that the other dancer is more beautiful, far more skilled, and accomplished that she is. . This comparison invariably ignites a quarrel. And this comparison invariably makes people feel inadequate, insecure and jealous through his conversations. Only material things can be compared. Comparison depends on measuring scales. Thus only that which can be measured can be the source of all quarrels..
When we focus on the material and the measurable (something that modern management and media thrives on) there will always be comparison and so quarrels. To break free from the clutches from this material world Narayana chanting is taken as as the reference point which is beyond comparison , beyond measurable and and be happy with whatever we are.
That is what Narada tries to communicate but no we never listens to his chant . and so, after causing strife, he just moves on chanting, Narayana-Narayana, plucking the strings of his lute, smiling wistfully at the predictable follies of man, never once gloating on the trouble he has caused or profiting from it, hoping they will eventually learn either in this life or the next.
Many of us are so soaked in our conflicts will fail to listen to this chant that is Narayana mantra which indicates the spiritual realm that is beyond measurable .
Very infirmative ..
