Saturn Moon conjuction

Is Saturn Moon conjunction lead to depression or show the path towards great spiritual development.?

Let us try to understand this question by contemplating first what these two planets represent. Moon is the manas and Saturn is tapas. Saturn wants to control and sublimate it's mind's weakness which gets tempted or influenced easily by distractions (Rahu). It wants this because Saturn is a sanyasi and loves mental-emotional-spiritual purification (Ketu) by going through the fire of tapas. Moon (fickleness or emotional weakness of the mind) is a barrier to this. So, Saturn looks at Moon as it's enemy.

Now, normally Moon is unenlightened. It has no discrimination. So, when it looks at Saturn (the strict teacher or authority figure in real life) or is in contact with Saturn where Saturn itself is passive or not able to affect it, then it is not able to realize at first (being innocent) that Saturn is going to curtail his freedom. So it remains neutral to it. But when Saturn starts to influence Moon by imposing it's discipline on it, Moon hates it. That may give birth to rebelliousness in some cases (Mars functioning in a wilful way).

Another pointer to the essence of what I said is that Moon has no enemies. Moon (the innocent mind) will realize Saturn's restricting influence only after it starts to experience it's disciplining process (criticism, scolding, punishment etc.). Before the actual experience of the critical parent/teacher (Saturn), the child (innocent Moon or mind) feels completely free like a bird.

Saturn conjunct Moon is a difficult aspect. Moon wants to experience life spontaneously while Saturn imposes all kinds of restrictions in the name of morality, traditions, sense of danger in the environment etc. If Moon feels too restricted it may cause pessimism, excessive fears, even depression. But on the other hand, in a refined horoscope it may make one contemplative and meditative, enabling them to dive into the inner recesses of the subconscious mind. Whether depression/fear/pessimism or contemplation/wisdom/realism would depend upon Jupiter's placement.

I was once asked the following question regarding the relationship between Jupiter, Moon and Mercury. I am sharing my answer to that question as it is connected to the possibilities of a Saturn Moon conjunction. The result of this conjunction in reality would also depend upon the way Mercury (our intellect) and Jupiter (our wisdom) function in our lives.

Q: How can Jupiter and the Moon be friends astrologically, if the Moon had a son (Mercury) with Jupiter's wife?

My answer: “Every astrological myth has a deep esoteric meaning which reveals itself on deep contemplation. These stories need not be taken literally. Moon, Jupiter and Mercury are not people that they will have affairs and beget biological children the way people do. The stories have been created by enlightened Vedic seers or Rishis for us to grasp the deeper astrological principles.

Let us look at this story. Moon represents the mind stuff - the chitta; the emotional part of us that is affected by everything that is happening within and around us. It governs our feelings, moods, and emotional reactions as well as our basic personality. Mercury represents our intellect or 'buddhi'. It is our ability to think rationally or wisely. This is a quality which can be developed enormously if we work on expanding our knowledge. But if we do not, it remains childish in most people. Mercury is also called 'the child' among the planets. It is so called because our intellect remains childish if we do not develop it.Now, Jupiter is the planet of wisdom and interest in deeper truths of this universe. His wife represents those sattwik qualities which help us to develop wisdom. For example, reverence for our teachers, enlightened sages, wisdom traditions, God, love for knowledge etc.

Moon begetting a son called Mercury through Jupiter's wife implies that if a person does not develop the sattwik qualities necessary to cultivate wisdom because of mental fickleness (Moon being the fastest moving planet, and because it increases and decreases in size so rapidly, it represents fickleness or moodiness), then his intellect remains childish (Mercury). We can see easily that a mentally fickle person cannot cultivate wisdom because that would require disciplined application of one's mind for many years. This disciplined application of our mind is the Saturn principle.

So, the lesson behind this mythological story is that we need to cultivate sattwa (Jupiter's devoted and loyal wife who keeps away from the fickleness of a 'weak' Moon instead of flirting with him) and work hard (Saturn) under the guidance of enlightened teachers (Jupiter) in order to become wise. Or else we remain childish (undeveloped Mercury or intellect).

In some other mythological stories in different parts of the world, Mercury is depicted as the student and Jupiter as the Teacher, which further clarifies what I have explained above.”

So, connecting all these dots, we realize that what results a Saturn Moon conjunction would give would also depend upon the level of evolution of the native in whose horoscope it occurs. That level of evolution would depend upon how refined the intellect of that person is, and how much wisdom and discipline they are capable of cultivating. Also, how much would they be supported by their fate or luck.

The level of refinement of the intellect is indicated by the position, strength and aspects on the planet Mercury and also Rahu. The capacity for disciplined self-work is represented by the rasi and nakshatra placement of Saturn, and the aspects, conjunctions as well as the strength of its dispositor as well as nakshatra lord. Jupiter's position and strength in the horoscope would show us how much support the native will receive from the divine will in their spiritual journey in the form of enlightened teachers, availability of resources and absence of poverty, opportunities for a good education etc.

Putting all these factors together we would be able to tell whether Saturn Moon conjunction would give depression or great spiritual development. It has been the experience of many people that they have come out of their bouts with depression as much more wiser, compassionate and resilient people.

Ravana - Astrologer - Shiva tandava strota

Ravana - Astrologer - Shiva tandava strota
Ravana was excellent astrologer he wrote ರಾವಣ ಸಂಹಿತೆ (Ravana samithe)
Some say it was destroyed during hanuman burining lanka ...
Later on what was left was compiled into book called ಲಾಲ್ ಕಿತಾಬ್ or red book where many of the remedies for your grahasa are recorded and suggested
In fact Ravana himself set the muhartam time for his killing .
They say if Ram had missed the time on that day it would have taken another 20 years for him to kill !!
Coming to shiva tandava strotam
The most popular legend says that Raavan was flying in Pushpak Vimaan(flying chariot) which he won over Kuber (his stepbrother) along with the kingdom of Lanka. He was doing parikrama (circumambulation) of the entire universe on the Pushpak Vimaan. When he came near Mount Kailash, the chariot was stopped itself and he was disturbed by this thought. Mount asked him to change his route as Lord Shiv and Goddess Parvati were resting. But he didn’t listen and got annoyed with Kailash. He got off the pushpaka vimana chariot and thought he would remove the mountain by his hands. He even succeeded to lift the huge Mount Kailash. That time the entire universe felt intense turbulence as Kailash is believed to be the center of the earth.
In order to teach him a lesson, Lord Shiv pressed Mountain with his toe. So, his hands crushed between Kailash and the land. He cried in immense pain and his crying sound could be heard in all three worlds ie Earth, Heaven(Swarg lok) and Hell (patal lok). The sound is called as RAAV(crying in agony) in Sanskrit. Seeing this Gods and Narada Muni came to him and suggested him to pray upon Lord Shiv as he will surely forgive. He was stuck in that condition for 14 days singing various Shiv mantras. Then, on the evening of Pradosh kaal, ( twilight evening )he chanted the Shiv Tandav stotram with immense devotion in perfect rhythm. His words were magical and could be heard across the universe. Everybody was mesmerized listening to Shiv Tandav Stotram praising Lord Shiv describing his infinite beauty and power.
In the end, Shiv came down and forgave him. After this incident, Shiv gave him the name “RAAVAN”. Earlier he was known by Dashanan (ten-headed man) and after this, he was called by Raavan. Shiv was very happy after listening to Tandav Stotram as it was beautifully composed in perfect rhythm by the most knowledgeable person of 4 Vedas, 6 Upanishads. Also, he was blessed by Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge. Shiv then gifted him “Chandrahas” sword. Chandra means Moon and has means smile. The sword is in Moon crescent shape which is indestructible. This is how Raavan composed and gave a gift of Shiv Tandav Stotram to the universe As per Shastras, ALL can worship Shiva.

The benefits of reciting Shiv Tandav Stotram are miraculous. It gives you the power, mental strength, happiness, prosperity and a lot more.
Usually if Rahu is badly placed in your chart it is highly recomended to recite this strota
If you just listen to the song with full devotion, you can surely feel the presence of his presence .This is the most energetic and powerful composition.
All the Sholkas used here define different qualities of Shiv. Listen to it as some collection of secret positive words to open hidden doors for you.
Here is some part of the meaning

Soothsayers

Soothsayers have been around as long as recorded history, probably longer—after all, knowing what’s to come has always been accorded more value than knowing what’s already happened. Even in  Karnataka we  have  seen  may so  called God  men or charlatans who have  not  read ABCD  of  Astrology but enjoy shouting from the television screen, and even  last election  some  so  called  soothsayer said that  Modi is  going  to be  defeated in general  election which  was  picked up  by  all  local channels  !!
Yes ,there has always been power and notoriety to be gained from prognostication. But considering that most (if not all) of these seers/bogus  gurus —whatever market expertise or God-given insight they might claim for themselves—are just shooting in the dark, it’s not altogether clear what makes a good prophet. Showmanship and some lucky guesses, to be sure, but beyond that? This is the question that surrounds the strange and enduring popularity  and  one of  the  person  we  are  talking  now is  about   an ex-doctor from southern France named Nostradamus.
His name is almost a by word for cataclysm, trotted out over the centuries in the wake of major disasters as evidence that long ago someone had figured out they had been foreordained. Such was the case in the aftermath of September 11, for instance, when Nostradamus most recently reappeared in the spotlight. Today, venture into any bookstore’s occult section, and you’re bound to find multiple translations of The Prophecies, his best-known work, alongside books hotly debating its significance and validity. Or turn on the History Channel, and you might catch repeats of The Nostradamus Effect, a show that explored apocalyptic prophecies throughout history, with episodes bearing titles like “The Third Anti-Christ?” and “Armageddon Battle Plan.” His name and work have permeated our experience of doom and destruction, but
. You’ll find apocryphal prophecies, such as the one which warns that “two steel birds will fall from the sky on the Metropolis,” or logical contortionists like Nostradamus “expert” and self-styled prophet John Hogue, who contends that the prophecy beginning “When 1999 is seven months over” can be made a reference to 9/11 if one only reverses “1999” to “9-11-1,” and translates the French sept as “September,” not “seven.” There are literally millions of web pages like this, and the man himself—Michel de Nostredame—is scarcely evident behind all this noise.
After  every major  event  we are eager  to  link that  event  with Nosradamus and his predictions be it 9/11 or  the recent  caraoan virus   and yes  nowadays Not a single major event in the world passes without Nostradamus and his predictions. Like many times before, the media succeeded in linking the coronavirus to Nostradamus, and the goal is one and only – to get as many clicks and readings of the texts as possible by using sensationalism. And getting  maximum  TRPs fo

: for  example  let  us  look at one of  his  so  called  prediction which  reads
[if  you  are referring  to word sea  side  town  definitely  Wuhan  does  not  have  sea !!!]

Nostradamus’ prophecies are vaguely written, so it is impossible to link them directly to a particular event.
Nostradamus’ work is expressed in four-line stanzas, verses and puzzles, which are not chronologically arranged. In fact, most of Nostradamus’ prophecies are poorly translated and vaguely worded, and thus open to various readings and interpretations, which in turn leaves enough room for a lot of speculation.
There are many interpreters of Nostradamus, and most of them interpret one same verse about the future in different manners precisely because of the ambiguity of his writing.
This makes it impossible to claim that Nostradamus in his work was specifically referring to the coronavirus, which, despite the panic present among the public, is far less dangerous than the common flu which results in about  650.000 deaths yearly.
Social media posts have been used as sources of information in the text, with the phrase “somebody tweeted”. Anyone can post what they wish on social media, which does not mean that the story is true and should be republished in the media without further inspection, and intimidate the public by republishing articles that say “we will die soon”.
The title itself misinforms on two occasions. First, even Nostradamus truly predicted a “plague”, the title says that it is taking place in a seaside town. The coronavirus originated in the city of Wuhan in China, which is not a seaside town, which can be confirmed by a simple Google search.
The second manipulation of the public is in the final part of the headline that says “here is the date when it will stop”. This leads readers to click on the text, thinking that they will read when the virus will stop spreading. But there is no such information in the text.
It is irresponsible for an extra click to publish media articles full of sensationalism, misinformation and speculation related to the coronavirus that only exacerbates the panic that already exists in the public. The media should carefully and cautiously publish information related to coronavirus and focus more on educating the public on how to deal with the virus than on increasing readership through sensationalist reports.

"There will be a twin year (2020) from which will arise a queen (corona) who will come from the east (China) and who will spread a plague (virus) in the darkness of night, on a country with 7 hills (Italy) and will transform the twilight of men into dust (death), to destroy and ruin the world. It will be the end of the world economy as you know it.
We could find no passages in Nostradamus’ collective works that resemble these words. this  is  all  fabricated I  will  tell  you  why  so  because
Nostradamus is best known for"Les Prophéties,  a collection of poetic quatrains that are united in sets of verses, or "centuries," that was first published in 1555.
This purported prediction does not follow the pattern of his typical vague, four-line poems, and we couldn’t find anything resembling it, "Les Prophéties or in  various of  his other  writings
Recent social media posts also appear to be the first and only occurrences of this prophecy online, and none provide additional details or evidence as to where it was found, which typically indicates it was fabricated.
There is no evidence Nostradamus wrote this, it doesn’t follow the quatrain format of his predictions and the words cannot be found in his works.
Despite what is shouted in the mass media, the ratio between quality and quantity speaks for itself: in less than three years Nostradamus wrote almost every day, reaching over 4,500 verses. The supporters of Nostradamus dare to say that the precision is mathematical, but the reality is very different. The “amazing prophecies” of Nostradamus made with “mathematical precision” are not amazing at all and they do not have the slightest precision. They are totally chaotic and this thing is reflected in absolutely all the failed forecasts based on his quatrains.and  best  part  is  any  event  down the  years have  some relation  to his  so  called predication and  can  be  given  credit  to  him  as  I  said earlier  a plague that  occurred some  200  years  or  the  recent corona virus can  be  linked  to  so  called statement  of  his
”Big plague in the seaside town” is  the standard text which  is vaguely  written

But, ironically, the prophecies are popular exactly due to their vagueness. The quatrains deliberately contain vague and general terms in order to stimulate selective thinking: there are no rules of interpretation, the texts can be suited to any major event, the prophetic failures are omitted or ignored, and the seeming successes are overrated. The message of Nostradamus in the letter to his son César, in which he states that the quatrains were written in a nebulous form rather than clear prophetic, can easily be seen as a “blank check”: they can mean almost anything they are supposed to mean

. A proof in this regard is also the fact that the Nostradamic exegesis is full of linguistic evasions such as “it is possible,” “probably that,” “might be,” “might mean,” thereby minimizing the failure and leaving the possibility for the texts to be recycled for other real correspondences. very clever use of words

So, the ratio between the total volume of the Nostradamic prophecies and the volume of prophecies said to come true is weaker than pure chance.
In  conclusion  let  us  not  give  much  importance  to  these  so  called God  men and  sootsayers

vedic astrology vs western Astrology

many people  keep  asking  me the  difference  between  vedic  astrology  vs   western  astrology
evolution of Astrology  and depth:
Western astrologers have rudimentary knowledge of astrology . They have not yet explored it to its potentials because of the western past. The evolution of Christianity and the medieval dominance of Church imposed a lot of restrictions in the west. All forms of fortune-telling and predictions were discarded to make way for the mythical “free-will”. As a result, astrology  made itself vague and psychological to survive. And then when Science became the modern conqueror, that vague astrology  could not present evidence. Hence the longstanding war between Astrology  and Science. On the  contrary , most Indian astrological  concepts are the backbone of modern science. The same math that gave us the “Rahu and Ketu” gives NASA the timing of eclipses in a year  and  in  fact they  call  rahu . Ketu  as  nodal  points !!. All pioneers of science in India have been astrologers  whose works are the foundation of modern western science as well.
Western astrologers however, lack the math, astronomy, analytical abilities and command over numbers and concepts. Vedic astrology  has evolved over millenniums, western astrology  is barely a  baby in  comparison  to  Vedic  astrology .
Tropical and Sidereal Zodiac:
The concept of zodiac signs was to map the earth’s location with respect to fixed stars. The mathematical concept was triangulation and approximation. Instead of regarding individual objects fixed in the sky, why not have them in sectors and approximate their value. Because of the time-lapse in the west due to religious and scientific forces, the concept was lost and gave birth to tropic zodiacs. As a result of the numerous lost celestial objects, western astrologers started to expand the scope of variable once.
Hence, all forms of astrology  that evolved kept the visible planets as the variables and approximated everything else in 12 sectors called the 12 signs. A concept similar to what we use in mathematics for approximating very complicated equation. Western astrologers  however, when it lost its way and missed out on the approximation, felt the need to include other variables. Which is why they have all types of moons, asteroids, and anything they can find floating in the space. By and by, over a hundred years or more; they’ll reach the sidereal zodiac space when the concept hits their mind. In the mean time, they’ll just run around finding and adding as many objects as they can. When it gets too complicated, they’ll come around.
Communication and Consultancy:
western astrologers  can function only on the technical knowledge of astrology Since the knowledge of astrology  itself is insufficient, some course or some exposure to psychology, consulting skills etc. is required. Hence, often western astrologers are better able to handle emotional issues. Vedic astrologers however are too absorbed in the technical part of astrology  that sensitivity, understanding, counselling is beyond their understanding.
Moreover, whenever you are with a western astrology , 99% of the times it is their counselling skills, and psychological tools that are at work. The planets and astrology  work only as a placebo effect. You will not return with a “clearer mind” you will just go back with a lighter one. You will not have gained any strong “insights” in your life or gotten any mysterious information about yourself that you didn’t know. You will just go back with better emotional control, motivation, encouragement, and appreciation  you  will  get  everything  apart  from  astrogical  fact !!.
Predictive abilities:
Astrology is not a regulated field. You cannot find an authentic astrologers  just because he claims to be an authentic one. There are no licenses, there are no regulations, and everyone is free to operate the way they see fit. Hence, verifying whether your astrologers is genuine or not is crucial.
If you go to an astrologer , he would make a prediction and advice a remedy. If the predicition comes true, or the remedy works; you can go back. Its a proof in itself. Vedic astrologers  make points that can be observed. They will say things like, a relationships is likely in the next 3 months. There are no ifs and buts about it. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, you know it.as it  based  on  certain  calculation
Western astrologers as said, talk crap. They’ll tell that your Sun is working as a brand ambassador, Venus is blushing; and you are willing to make sacrifices for the people you love, and that it happens to be the day if sun rises. No matter who you consult. You CAN NOT have a western astrologer give you one single concrete exact, legitimate sentence. Ask him whether you are angry or calm, lazy or hard working, loving or arrogant or anything at all. Give him your details, ask him to just say one intelligent sentence using 5 concrete words for you and he
Confidence and Skills:
When you’re working with a hammer, there are no ifs and buts. If you’re skilled at it, it comes naturally. As a doctor, your hands have mastered surgery and they are perfectly steady. When you visit an expert, their mannerism needs to reflect confidence, clear approach, and they themselves should have no doubt about you. They should be able to talk straight, understand your situation, and address you as an expert rather than keep beating around the bush. For a vedic astrologer, his skill is enough. You ask question and he’ll answer. A good vedic astrologer will even counsel you if need be. But he will take the reigns, you will not be the one leading. Just like you don’t guide a doctor in a surgery but submit completely; a vedic astrologer will take control.
A western astrologer however, cannot take reigns. If you’re having problems in a relationship, if it is abusive, he cannot come up with the words “You need to move away, right now”. A doctor will, a psychiatrist will, a western astrologer will never. Because taking reigns means being responsible as well. If someone agrees to put you on a table and operate on you, it means that he is capable. Otherwise, even if you hand over a surgical knife, the other person’s hands will begin to shake.
Whenever you go to a professional for help, you need to see the person as a higher authority and submit. A doctor cannot save you if you see him as equal and wish to discuss how he will operate. A lawyer will cannot help you if you’re one driving him. A psychologist cannot help you if you don’t listen to them and follow advice. You need to submit to their authority. However, a western astrologer will never take the reigns. Even if you try your best, they will not do anything more than what a friend does, they’ll listen and be compassionate. Maybe tell a few astrological pointers, but nothing concrete.
It is this reason why the western astrology has often been assigned attributes such as “humanistic”, because that inability to take control needs to be addressed in a positive way for business marketing.
Go  thru  any western  astrogical  site  or  so  called   any  popular western astrological  book  its  so rudimentary  even a first standard  student in  India  who knows  bit  of vedic  astrology  can  write  better or  answer  better
This  is  the  typical  answer  you  find  in  many  sites !!
Thanks for asking the question but I need to tell you that following Sun Signs only is not the ideal way to go with astrology. (It is one thing to say that sun-signs are generic, it is an entire different level of joblessness, mediocrity and boredom to keep writing the same answer again and again for thousands of replies. When one doesn’t have content, they repeat to remain active)

Thanks for asking the question, however only one or two planetary positions is not relevant to make a good deduction (again, good point but how utterly jobless in life you need to be to keep answering it for hundreds of questions? Even Siri changes her response every now and then)

That’s an interesting chart. The combination is similar to that of Mark Twain who said “Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.” (Even fortune cookies are better at making stuff). Just imagine you go to someone for consultation and they say “your situation seems similar to Shakespeare’s quote “to be or not to be, that is the question” can you really blame science if it negates astrology? No sane man would tol

Jupiter .........

Jupiter or Brihaspati is also called the Guru (a philosopher guide and teacher; a Self-realized Master; an enlightened being). According to Indian mythology, he is the eternal guide of the Gods or devas who always helps, protects and guides them in their frequent battles against the demons or asuras. He is the Jagadguru (teacher of the world) who incarnates from time to time in order to restore Dharma (ethical way of life in accordance with the principles of Sanatan Dharma or the eternal religion prescribed by the Vedas). In the role of the Jagadguru, Jupiter is the Lord Vishnu. For example, Lord Krishna, the most famous incarnation of Vishnu, is also revered as the Jagadguru. It is because of this reason that Vishnu is often worshipped on Thursday or Guruvar, the day of the week associated with Jupiter or Guru.
As a planet, Jupiter is the ultimate benefic. Jupiter sitting alone in any house normally functions beneficially with respect to the nature of that house. The qualities of any house that it sits in or aspects get expanded enormously because of its influence. For example, Jupiter aspecting or sitting in the second house makes a man enormously rich, and a wonderfully lucid communicator; in the third house, it makes one extremely courageous and optimistic; in the fourth, it gives one a wonderfully pious mother, love for motherland, huge real estate, good education etc. and similar is the case with other houses. What I have written above is certainly true when Jupiter sits all alone and not influenced by any aspect from any other planet. In case, it is involved with the other planets, we would need to look at the whole horoscope to interpret.
Jupiter is the great protector. I have seen that even when the malefic planets like Rahu, Mars, Saturn etc. give one troubles related to a certain house, an aspect of Jupiter on those planets keeps their evil influence in check. For example, let's say that the Lagnesh or the ascendant lord sits in the sixth house afflicted by Saturn. This indicates a chronic disease to the native. But if Jupiter aspects this combination, the native may suffer from chronic disease but would also ultimately recover with good treatment. Not only that, he would learn a lot about a healthy lifestyle because Jupiter the teacher will help him do so.
Jupiter being the Lord of ninth and twelfth houses in the kalpurush horoscope, is the significator of higher learning, religion, spirituality, spiritual teacher, long distance travel, connection with foreign lands and luck, freedom from debts and Self-realization or moksha (liberation from the cycle of births and deaths). If a strong Jupiter is either placed in or aspects the ninth house, it indicates that the native will travel to many distant lands in his life, would grow a magnanimous view of life, would grow a lot in terms of wisdom, would receive help from the divine whenever needed, would get good guidance from evolved mentors, and he himself would love to teach the higher principles of life to younger ones. Such a person loves knowledge, especially knowledge related to deeper principles of life.
Jupiter also is the significator for children. A well disposed Jupiter blesses one with brilliant, obedient, and lucky children who adore their parent. A strong and well disposed Jupiter also means that one loves children, and loves to play with them and teach them.
Jupiter associated with fifth, seventh or tenth house makes one well known and respected in one's profession. A good and strongly placed Jupiter, especially when it is associated with Moon or Sun, gives one a jovial and optimistic outlook towards life.Being the devguru (teacher of Gods), as an archetype, Jupiter represents deep spiritual wisdom, esoteric knowledge of the eternal principles that govern this Universe (for example, the law of karma), ethical behaviour, benevolence, kindness, healing, a good character, and most importantly, expansion of all the good qualities and things in one's being and life.
To cut a long story short, a well disposed and strong Jupiter in one's horoscope is a blessing from the Divine for leading a lucky life in which one grows a lot in the areas indicated by Jupiter's placement.

The Dead Rat

Chuang Tzu’s friend, Hui Tzu, had become the Minister in the Kingdom of Liang. He hadn’t been in touch with Chuang Tzu for quite some time, possibly due to his many duties and busy schedule, so Chuang Tzu thought it might be a good idea to pay his friend a visit.
One of Hui Tzu’s advisors heard about this, and went to see Hui Tzu immediately. He said: “Your Excellency, have you considered the possibility that perhaps Chuang Tzu is coming here to take over your position as the Minister?”
This notion made Hui Tzu quite nervous, so he ordered his people to search for Chuang Tzu throughout the land of Liang. They looked for three days and three nights, but came up with nothing — because Chuang Tzu hadn’t arrived yet.
Eventually, Chuang Tzu showed up to see his friend. Right away, he sensed a certain tension in the air. Hui Tzu did not seem happy to see him. It was a bit strange — Hui Tzu appeared to be on guard, but also aggressive and confrontational at the same time. Before too long, Chuang Tzu figured out what was really going on.
He said to Hui Tzu: “There is a kind of bird similar to the phoenix, called Yuanchu. Have you heard of it? For its migration flight, the Yuanchu bird travels from the Southern Sea to the Northern Sea. When it is tired, it rests only on the firmiana tree. When it is hungry, it eats only tender bamboo shoots. When it is thirsty, it drinks only pure stream water.
“One day, there was an owl who found the rotting carcass of a rat. It was about to feast on the carcass when it saw the Yuanchu bird flying overhead. Alarmed, the owl immediately took action to protect its meal. It held onto the dead rat and squawked with all its might, trying to scare away the intruder. So, my old friend… did you  understand  this  story ? hope you  did ......

Chuang Tzu and Hui Tzu started out as friends, with similar attitudes about life. As time went on, they began to grow apart. This was because Chuang Tzu studied in order to understand the Tao[ similar  to  zen] , while Hui Tzu studied in order to attain a higher position.
At first, Chuang Tzu was not aware of the distance between them, because the transformation of the was gradual and subtle. It did not occur to him that his visit might be misconstrued as something other than the renewal of an old friendship.
This kind of divergence can happen to you too. As your path unfolds to  gain only  knowledge , you may not be aware of how much your thinking has changed. It seems like everyone around you hasn’t changed all that much, so you must also be pretty much the same, right?
Not quite. When you cultivate the path  positively  and  properly, it gives you new ways to look at everything. You can observe the world with a deeper perception and appreciation. Everyday things take on new meaning and provide new insights. You see what others cannot see; you feel what they cannot feel.
Chuang Tzu compared this state of being to the rare and beautiful Yuanchu bird. The migration flight of the Yuanchu is the journey of the Tao cultivator journey . When you are on such a journey, your life is filled with purpose and meaning. You know where you are going and how to get there. This alone differentiates you from those who used to be your peers.
Just as the Yuanchu found rest in the firmiana tree, you find spiritual restoration in the Tao. Others may be puzzled about this. They may not see the point of practices like meditation, reflection and contemplation. Why waste your time in quiet solitude?
The bamboo shoots and pure water for the Yuanchu bird are just like the spiritual sustenance you need. It feeds the soul so you can continue your journey. It’s nothing like the monetary gains or social prestige that feed other people, the way that being the Minister fed Hui Tzu’s ego.
You know that desirability is an illusion, and behind it is a reality not so different from a dead rat.
Let this story be a cautionary note. You may have changed, but the world remains unchanged. Your path in life may be beautifully clear to you, but it may be incomprehensible to others. They may be on guard or defensive as you approach. They may think you are out to “get” them, when the things they hold so dear actually mean nothing to you.
When that happens, there is no need to feel upset. Realize that the hostility you encounter is nothing more than the owl squawking at the Yuanchu. If you try to explain, the owl will only get crazier, and even more desperate to protect its property. Your best option would be to ignore it. Continue on your flight… toward your destination.
